SceneWeaver
A focused desktop writing environment for novelists, screenwriters, and long-form storytellers.
SceneWeaver is what we make when we ask: what would a writing application feel like if it were designed to stay out of your way?
It's a single-window desktop application that holds an entire manuscript — scenes, characters, locations, items, and organisations — and lets you move between them without breaking your flow. No browser tabs. No syncing wheel. No waiting for the cloud to catch up.
- Scene-based outliner with drag-and-drop reordering
- Built-in tracking for characters, locations, items, and organisations
- Corkboard, timeline, and writing-coach views for planning and pacing
- Reports for statistics, readability, character and location usage, repeated phrases, and style
- Full-screen focus mode for distraction-free writing
- Inline comments, annotations, and continuity checks
- Restore points and snapshot comparison so revisions are never one-way
- Exports to Word (.docx), PDF, ePub, HTML, Markdown, LaTeX, plain text, and Fountain
- Built-in spell-check for UK and US English
- Your work stays on your machine — no cloud upload
- Pay once, no subscription
Coming in version 2
SceneWeaver v2 is in active development. It will be the first release with optional paid tiers (Student and Pro) alongside a continuing Free tier — same complete feature set, capped at three simultaneous manuscripts. Existing version 1 users may stay on version 1 forever and never pay.
Known additions include inline images and image-aware exports; light, dark and high-contrast themes; and single-instance protection. Full details and an up-to-date changelog live on sceneweaver.uk.
